Hey Qu

While in deep thought I was thinking of ways to create a gluten-free, soy-free, non-gmo, vegan "meat". I wanted to use a food that was native to the land of America. I used Quinoa as the main ingredient! Quinoa is a "grain-like seed"obtained from the goosefoot family plant, native to South America. It's one of the gluten free-staple foods. Quinoa is low in total fat and has no cholesterol. It's an excellent source of minerals like iron, copper, calcium, potassium, manganese and magnesium. Quinoa is also a great source of fiber. We use Quinoa to make Qu Dogs, Qu Burgers, Qu Tacos, Qu Balls and more. I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we do. Please share!

Start with 2 1/2 cups of cooked Tri-Quinoa

2 cups of chickpea flour, 1 red pepper cut into 4 parts, 1/2 tsp of sea salt, 1 tbsp of basil, 1/2 to 1 tsp of cayenne powder, depending on how much heat is preferred, 2 to 4 tbsp of coconut aminos, Mix all ingredients in a food processor, up to 2 minutes

While preparing the mixture for the QuFoods pre-heat a steam cooker, we use our rice steamer. Form the patties, balls or dogs with oil of your choice on parchment paper then add to steamer for 10 minutes a side.

Let cool and then grill for 3 to 5 minutes a side. This batch will make up to eight burgers. 10 dogs and 12 to 15 balls. You can also freeze remaining up to 7 days. You can cut the patties into strips or crumbs to make different dishes.

"We gotta make a change
It's time for us as a people to start makin' some changes.
Let's change the way we eat, let's change the way we live
And let's change the way we treat each other.
You see the old way wasn't working so it's on us to do
What we gotta do, to survive."  2Pac
